2024 Community Ride & Fundraiser Event for Monarch Racing!

Community Ride & Fundraising Event

Hello all -

This team was founded out of a desire to elevate and promote NorCal women’s cycling and greater women’s cycling in the U.S., and to create grassroots pathways into the sport for recreational or competitive cyclists. Since Day 1, our direct community (friends, family, fellow racers, casual cyclists, all of YOU) have been top of mind when developing the mission and path of this team.

YOU have also been instrumental in raising funds to make this vision possible. Last year, you helped us raise nearly $20,000 which covered just under 40% of the team’s expenses in 2023. You made this team possible.

And so now I am asking for your help again. But in a fun way! We have a GoFundMe (info below) and are holding our yearly Community Ride on Saturday, December 9th, based out of Albany, CA. We will have food, swaggy giveaways, and of course three routes with ride leaders for every type of rider. Your ticket and/or donation goes 100% to Monarch Racing’s team expenses for the year (all of which are tracked and shared in our quarterly newsletters!).

For those unable to attend or looking to share with others, we have a GoFundMe page up and running. We are looking to raise a total of $20,000 for our 2024 season.

“Why is your team important and why should I care?” you might ask. It’s a very important question to ask yourself when anyone on the internet asks you for money. Monarch Racing provides equipment and covers financial expenses for all our riders competing at the professional level in the U.S. - allowing those with financial or opportunity barriers the chance to experience elite athletics and explore their own potential. We also are committed to our own community, holding clinics and events that are first-of-their-kind in order to bring new riders (especially women) into the sport and encourage existing riders to stay in the sport. Our events are covered in national publications and I am meeting with the USAC leadership to discuss the implementation and importance of these events.

Girls and women are told throughout their lives, starting very young, that failure is something to be avoided, that challenges are scary, and that being highly competitive isn’t something to be proud of. We are changing that at multiple levels, by providing an environment for our racers to encourage challenge, failure, and growth, as well as show younger girls the futures available to them both in and out of athletics.

Support us, support our mission, and help us change our world!
